Why I’m So Grateful To Be a Boudoir Photographer

Boudoir is more than a photoshoot – both to you, and to me. Even though I photograph boudoir clients on the regular, I find myself feeling extremely grateful of my career with every client I photograph.

Most of the women that come in to my studio have never experienced anything like a boudoir session before. They come in nervous & anxious about the day (understandably!) Will they like the way they look? Will they like there photos? There are so many ‘ifs’ that they are walking into, and I know they are feeling vulnerable. This is one of the main reasons I am so grateful to be a boudoir photographer – these women who deserve to feel beautiful but are scared to put themselves out there have come to me of all the people they could’ve chosen. I don’t take that lightly – I make sure to pour myself into every woman I photograph.

Not only are women coming in feeling vulnerable; they then bare it all even while feeling nervous. THIS is why it is so important to me that I make sure every client feels at ease from the moment they walk in – either with coffee, tea, mimosas, and then the general girl chat and good vibes in the hair & makeup studio – I want you to feel good about what you’ve gotten yourself into.

Showing you every pose and then how you look on the camera can also help to ease those fears. Once you see a few amazing shots on the back of the camera you realize, “OKAAAYYY, I can actually do this!” I love watching women start out shy, and then are acting like a model by the end of their shoot.

I know it does not come naturally to most to spend this amount of time and money on themselves. This is another reason why I am filled with gratitude – we as women DO NOT put ourselves first. This is a known fact and we allllll joke about it sometimes. But when a woman chooses to book a boudoir shoot, I know that they are learning to get serious about self care and loving themselves, and I am honored to be the one to kick it off. I genuinely love seeing you learn to love yourself!

For me- I don’t think this sense of gratitude could come from any other career other than this one. My clients are what keeps me going when things get tough. I am so grateful for all of you!
